Here is a place to share the odd and funny or querky things kids say, you can quote or place things that really happened here.
I'll start:

Conversation with Gabe tonight:

Gabe: "Mom, I can't wear my Pirates of the Carribbean shirt to school any more."

Me: "Why not?"

Gabe: "because all the girls were all over me saying oohhh because they love Will Turner and they wouldn't leave me alone."

Me: "Maybe they were all over you because they like you."

Gabe: "Oh gross!"

End of conversation.

Ok the conversation we had when i told rob he was going to have a cousin.

Me "I have something to tell you, your auntie is having a baby"

Rob" is she will I be it's uncle"

Me" no you will be a cousin, cant be an uncle as you have no brothers or sister's"

Rob" it would be cool to be an uncle at 12. How old will I be when it is 11?

Me" you will be about 21, 22!

Rob"I will be too old to play with him then, better be a boy dont want a girl"

Me " we wont know what it is till it is born and what ever it is it wont matter all that matters is it is healthy and well"

Rob" well what will nanny and grandad be to it and will you be a nanny"

Me"nanny and grandad will be the baby's nanny and grandad as well I will be auntie kerry!

Rob(laughing at me for being auntie kerry) " oh but how can nanny and grandad me baby's nanny and grandad as they are mine"

Me" cause she is my sis nanny and grandad are her mum and dad as well which will make them baby's nanny and grandad"

Rob"oh right"

haha kerry, sometimes you have to wonder how kids hear things and understand them.

slim- I'm afraid he won't.. it's the only shirt that matches his camouflage shorts he has!!

hello poe makes me wonder what goes through his head at times the things he come out with at times he really shock me and it not fun when you are shopping as he can be so :oops: sometimes I have to walk away from him and pretend he isnt mine :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

hahah that reminds me of a time we were in Walmart and there was this very..um.... large man and Alex, sweet charming little Alex said in a very loud voice

"Wow, Momma that guy is FAT!"

To which I am sure I was bright red and whispered "Shut up, you don't say things like that!" or something along those lines!
Talk about embarassing!!

haha, you did exactly what I would have done!!
Gabe has a tendancy of being a tad insensitive with things similiar (can't think of a specific at the moment) but I'm the same way, I'm like well can you ------ and then add on the "See, no one's perfect!"

Conversation with Josh (4) in the restaurant tonight...

Lucy - "What would you like, a little brother or a little sister?"

Josh - "A pirate!"

I know I'm a bit tardy in my reply to this, Sally, but that is just funny!! If it's a boy, you'll have to get a tiny infant pirate outfit for the baby and let Josh see him wearing it! :)

Today, while I was at work, this is how Alex occupied his time. He built a driving console. The steering wheel is obvious, the markers on top is the gear shift, and it's hard to see but on the bottom right hand corner he drew a navigation system, or rather what he called ... "the map that tells me where to go"
Thought I'd share....

Good morning Poe! Love the pirate outfit idea...can just imagine Josh's face!!

Seeing your wonderful pic :-D took me back to when I was young. There was always an abundance of boxes about as my parents managed a grocery shop. I used to make trains for my teddybears and the cats, and rocket ships and forts (you can tell I wasn't a girly-girl!!! :roll: Thanks for the memories :-D

There's nothing like a child's imagination is there!

That's part of the frightening idea behind this. I have no idea WHERE he got that box!! He loves boxes and hordes them, I think. Alex is very Engineer'd minded. he made a fake gumball machine the other night out of construction paper. I love it!! he definitely loves to think and use his mind and hands constructively, there is nothing better than that!
Gabe, on the otherhand, is testosterone-driven in his creativity. He makes weapons, Chinese throwing stars, little finger knives... the works.
He wants a BB Gun for his Bday and when he showed me a picture on the internet what it looks like I just said "ugh" and walked away...He chased me into the living room and followed it with "Well if I can't have the rifle can I have a pistol?"

Poe I know what you are going through rob nagged and nagged me for a BB gun I did get him one it lasted five Min's the broke got the cheapest one I could find lol!
He then got another one which broke as well now no more talk of guns at all.

What we done we got a cardboard box stuck newspaper over the open end stuck his target on that and he used that also saved all the BB bullets going every where.

But it is now out of his system thank god it was driving me mad!
