Ok chaps!!! Poe and I have had this idea....we post a picture that we can write a poem about...NOT a haiku this time. It doesn't matter how many pics we post (within reason) but we have to copy it as a quote with your poem underneath...
What do you think??
Here's a pic to get us started... it's quite large so you can get the detail..

*Forgive me if this offends you, it hasn't been a pleasant week. Thank you.*
God, please look kindly upon this soul
whose burden weighs both shoulders
and mind.
Forgive me when I say that though
your stones are strong, colored glass
beautiful, I find no faith inside the
walls.
After all, walls are only for shelter
from tangible elements and I've yet
to find perceptible findings, on your
behalf.
When storms clouds drench this weary
spirit, ripping apart its wings,
Grant me the serenity to hold contempt
to express such rage and direct it where
it belongs.
Yes, to sit upon your doorstep offers
a sense of calm and peace.
But I question all else there forth.
I see the beauty in the stone.
I see the faith within the walls.
But again, walls are only walls
And windows, no matter how brightly
colored, still shatter and already
I feel the first spiderweb crack
along my soul.

*not nearly good enough, but the only thing I can think of this morning. I'll try again later*
Color Me Brightly
It seems these days, I'm cloaked in gray
no matter which direction I face.
I look to the east, to greet the sun,
but from my earnest longing it runs.
I face the moon, singing night's tune
but here it reminds me of all that's ruined.
I fell in the dirt, from the strife and the hurt
and can't seem to wipe myself clean.
All i want is a star or two, to shine only slightly
and remind me of all that is green -
silver and blue, red roses and pink,
Reminding me there's more to all that I think
is only drab and gray, each and every day.
Still comes the darkness, raw and unyielding
forcing me ever - these walls I keep building
And when I am caged, no more can be touched
I see a faint glimmer, that I had hoped for so much.
There in the cracks, of the stone, morter and clay
breaks free a splice of color, coming my way.
I dare not reach out, nor break down the wall
I've learned that lesson before, harder than all
I've ever learned before, so I must sit and wait
for the colors to reach me and color me bright.

Hello Poe that is really good
I love the two bottom verses
not breaking the wall down
I have mine up I do let them down but then someone gets too close they go straight back up again but sometimes they can stay down just depends I suppose.
I am learning to let ppl in and let ppl get closer to me.
but that wall is always ready to go back up. |

Thank you Kerry.
Life sucks, but I'm always hoping for the color to reach me.
Hopeless, I know :)

finally!!
Here's my newest
Blue is the color of my soul
‘Tis the way the wind blows
and countless worries from
ages ago,
But this is not so bad, you know -
There’s beauty in this tender hue
From ocean’s depth to skies
So blue;
Things that most never knew
Considered to be of those too
Few –
That seem to warrant depressing
Thoughts,
Tho’ I know this is always naught
But who am I, but taught
That blue can be sweet and
Ought –
To be looked at with a closer eye
See the wonder in disguise
Be free from rumor and don’t despise
This color that I must reprise –
Is the color of heart and soul
Taking me where I need to go
If not today then years ago
And those to come, I know.
