Shadows

Your presence casts a shadow,
Across this ruptured Heart.
Without life’s vivid light,
We cannot, flourish or mature.

Your existence leaves a spectre,
Obscures the brightest rays.
Infects these dying eyes,
Leads me to the darkest time.

Your Soul, lurks among the shadows,
Blackened, silhouette of pain.
Conceal the glow, lead pain away,
Night arrives, to kill our day.

Shape shifting, trick of the light?
Shaded world, speaks in tongues.
Battle for the brightness, rages,
Amidst dark recesses, of tortured mind.

Shadowlands where you reside,
Ruled by shade, lawless light.
Reach within, to escape this place,
Shadow of death, covers my face.

Okay here is mine just wrote in a hurry so not very good
wanted to do it more creepy. :shock:

Floor boards creak, no one there
Door opens no one enters
Smell of perfume in the room
Must be someone there.

Goose bumps on my arm
Shivers down my back
Frozen to the chair
Cant move only,
Sit, watch and wait

A dark shadow moved
Across the room
Let out a screeching laugh
Slammed the door shut
Then it was gone.

Wonder who is
Lurking in the shadows of my room.

Slim - well done. Love the ending. I haven't been tapping into my dark ink well lately, yours may have inspired me.

kerry - how creative!! Taking your poem, I can spin a tale of classic late night creep fests!!
